Parental Mental Health
Why take this Parental Mental Health course?
Living with a parent or carer who has mental health problems does not necessarily mean a child will suffer abuse, but there is a risk that there will be a negative impact. In this module we explore the challenges that different mental health issues pose, as well as a range of best practice tools which can be used to assess the needs of parents and support the welfare of children.
In order to put the issues into context learners can drop in to follow the story of one parent, Elena, as she firstly experiences mental distress and subsequently accesses services tailored to her needs.

Accreditation
This course is accredited by CDP and the certificate, awarded upon successful completion, can be used the log your hours against.
Course duration
Approximately one hour to 90 minutes to complete. As an e-learning course you can complete this training in convenient stages. The system will record your progress throughout.
Target audience
It is aimed at anyone who comes into contact with children and young people during the course of their work.
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for this course.
Test and certificate
The end of course test consists of 15 multiple choice questions. Learners are required to achieve a 75% pass mark, and, if necessary, may attempt the test three times at no extra cost. If learners do not achieve the 75% pass mark, further attempts may be given by contacting our support team.
Learners will be able to download a digital certificate on completion.
