Overview - Basic Awareness of Child and Adult Sexual Exploitation

This course is aimed at individuals and professionals who need to understand how to safeguard vulnerable children, young people and adults who are at risk of being sexually exploited.

This course aims to give you an awareness of what sexual exploitation is and how to identify it whilst also describing the best practice of how to safeguard those who are at risk.

Upon completion of this module, you will be able to:

  • Explain what sexual exploitation is
  • Identify the vulnerability factors
  • Recognise the signs and indicators of sexual exploitation
  • Understand the importance of multi-agency working and the safeguarding frameworks in place to manage concerns of sexual exploitation
  • Act appropriately if you have a concern

Duration

Approximately 1 hour. The length of time taken depends entirely on how quickly you can study and absorb the material. You can proceed as quickly or slowly as you like. This course does however have several downloadable PDFs with additional information in, which you can print off and read in your own time.
