Overview - Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect - Foundation

This course covers a variety of child protection issues and is suitable for anyone who comes into contact with children. It is a slightly shorter version of the Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect (Core) course and it is designed to be suitable for all not just child specialists. It aims to inform about the various types of abuse or neglect to a child and then explain what you must do if you suspect that a child is being abused or neglected.

Please be aware that this training content deals with potentially disturbing subject matter.

Accreditation

The content of this course has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines.

Duration

Approximately 1 - 2 hours. The length of time taken depends entirely on how quickly you can study and absorb the material. You can proceed as quickly or slowly as you like.

Anyone who comes into contact with children. Please be aware that this training content deals with a potentially disturbing subject matter and material and images used may be of a graphic nature. The module carries links to help lines and national support agencies that can be contacted should you feel the need to talk about the subject to someone other than your colleagues or manager.
