Dates: 10th June 2026, 9th September 2026 & 4th November 2026
Time: 09:30am - 16:30pm
Location: Face to Face, please check confirmation email.
Tracy Sheraton and Nicola Cross, Family Network Meeting (FNM) Facilitators, are delighted to offer a full‑day Family Network Meeting training programme for Children’s Social Care staff only, please note that Family Network Meeting awareness sessions will be available separately for our multi agency partners.
This will be mandatory, face‑to‑face, interactive training, aimed at building practitioners’ confidence, knowledge, and skills in delivering effective Family Network Meetings. The training will support practitioners to work collaboratively with families, ensuring practice remains child‑focused, culturally sensitive, and strengths‑based.
The training will provide practitioners with a clear understanding of the Families First Partnership (FFP) approach and how Family Network Meetings (Family Group Decision Making) sit at the heart of this model. Participants will explore how FNMs are used across Children’s Services to strengthen family‑led solutions and improve outcomes for children.
The course will cover the purpose and principles of Family Network Meetings, including when to use them, who facilitates them, and how they differ from other meetings. Practitioners will learn how to structure FNMs, use effective and strengths‑based questions, and support families to create safe and realistic plans.
There will be a strong focus on working with parents and carers, understanding kinship care arrangements, and delivering culturally sensitive FNMs that respect family identity, values, and lived experience.
The training will also develop practical skills in using genograms and eco‑maps, capturing and embedding the voice of the child, and managing difficult conversations sensitively and confidently.
